    animated feature | 90 min

Did you know you can make ice cream in the middle of nowhere without an ice cream machine?Just fly your fighter plane to a freezing altitude, fill your bullet containers with milk and cocoa and let the engine vibrations do the rest! When a WWII Italian deserter is mistaken for a contestant in Scotland’s legendary Golden Cone ice cream tournament, he must keep up the ruse to avoid capture. As his cover starts to melt, two local kids help him fake it - and maybe even make it - in a city that has lost its taste for outsiders. Flavio is a sprinkle-filled ice cream adventure for the whole family about finding your people in the darkest of times. Inspired by the story of real Italian families in Scotland in the 20th century, Flavio encourages audiences to reflect on belonging, connection, and the transformative power of kindness. It’s the story of how war was defeated by the most scrumptious of weapons… ice cream! Created by Kristina Tsenova and expanded into a feature with Cecile Durel, Flavio is currently in early development with continuous backing from Screen Scotland. Martha MacDiarmid (formerly Head of Development at Wild Child Animation and Head of Production at Red Kite Animation) is story and script editor and Bonnie & Braw Cartùns (award-winning animation studio with a track record of working with BBC Scotland, OutTV, Mediawan, Aardman) provides production support and mentoring. ‘Flavio’ also won the Feature Animation category in the Animatic Lab Pitch Competition as part of the Glasgow Film Festival in 2026.

    Perpetuum Mobile
adult animated series | 20 min Episodes

In a future where repressed emotions manifest as grotesque physical syndromes, a wellness entrepreneur builds an empire selling miracle cures while hiding the truth about her own condition. In 2230, the world looks much the same - just slightly upside down. Nearly two hundred years after Ryan Thompson’s controversial discovery that eating the green parts of potatoes could extend human life beyond 150, society has built an entire belief system around solanine. Medicine has lost its authority, influencers have replaced doctors, and wellness has become law. Now, therapy is out of fashion, and expressing emotions through words is considered taboo. Instead, the body keeps the score. Emotional repression turns physical in the form of “Syndromes” that define modern life. Unprocessed grief becomes visible. Chronic anxiety reshapes the body. Burnout sprouts unsightly bony growths. In this world, a group of characters navigate the collapse of their carefully curated lives, in a society obsessed with optimisation, denial, and endless self-improvement - where everyone is constantly talking, but no one is really saying anything. Perpetuum is a 2D adult animated dark comedy with psychological satire and elements of body horror. It explores wellness culture, emotional suppression, influence, and the strange ways human bodies adapt to what society demands of them.

    Gaida
    short animated film

A young Scottish piper travels to the Bulgarian mountain village of Gela to learn the gaida, drawn by a sense of connection she cannot fully explain. Rumours speak of Orpheus having once walked these mountains, and of a lingering presence within the mist. In Gela, she discovers a world where music carries memory, myth lingers in the landscape, and connection can exist beyond language or time. Gaida is a short film about the shared roots of music, myth, and memory across cultures. A story in which sound becomes a bridge between worlds, and belonging is something created together.

    ABOUT US

Pigeon & Goose Tales is a Glasgow-based development company founded in 2025 by artist and art director Kristina Tsenova and writer-producer Cecile Durel.

Working as a small creative duo, we develop original stories for film and television, with a particular love for animation! Our slate currently includes a 3D animated family feature film, a 2D dark comedy satirical series, and a growing collection of short-form projects. While the stories themselves vary wildly (from ice cream tournaments to malfunctioning mind-body connections!), they share our fascination with imperfect people, communities shaped by the stories they inherit and the wonderfully messy ways they come together.

We created Pigeon & Goose as a home for original worlds, complex characters, and stories that stay with audiences long after the credits roll. Through international collaboration and ambitious visual storytelling, we aim to create work that is funny, heartfelt, a little bit strange, and deeply human.

Kristina Tsenova is an artist and art director based in Glasgow, originally from Bulgaria. With a background in both 2D and 3D art and a passion for animation and storytelling, her work spans kids' media, games, educational projects, and animation.
Early in her career, Kris won a 3D art internship at Disney Research Edinburgh and was a finalist in the Rookie Awards in 2018 and 2019 for 3D Animation. Since then, she has worn many hats - from art directing and design to writing and visual development - but her favourite part of the process is making sure art and story fit together just right. Often disappearing down research rabbit holes, Kris would happily spend hours researching 18th-century moustache trends if it helps a character feel more authentic.
She also gets far too excited about pigeons...

Cecile Durel is a French writer based in Hamburg working across prose, theatre and animation. Her previous work includes Creative Scotland-funded R&D and commission of her play Samhain which also earned her a runner-up title in the 2022 St Andrews Playwriting Award; several runs at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival as a writer and an actor including ACS production I, Sniper in 2018; published novel Les Étoiles du Menteur in 2013 under the pen name Anna K.

Cecile graduated with a Bachelor in performing arts from the university of Caen Normandy and an acting degree from Acting Coach Scotland.

Today, she is discovering life in Germany while spending as much time in Scotland as the scheduling gods will allow.

She is passionate about finding necessary tales and celebrating the unavoidable echoes of old stories in our new ones. She’s only recently started liking birds, but even before there was love, there was always mad respect for a goose’s angry energy.
